SYNOPSIS: The Enterprise stops at a planet known as Haven, which is legendary for its beauty and serenity but also for its power to heal.  There, they are surprised to discover that Deanna Troi was promised at a young age to marry her father's best friend's son, Wyatt.  When her mother Lwaxana beams aboard with her intended and his family, the Millers, arguments ensue as to how the marriage or bonding ceremony will be performed.  As the parents continue to insult and fight over it (and without asking whether or not their offspring even want to join), Deanna must reconcile her feelings of being forced into a marriage arranged long ago to a man she has never met with her feelings for Commander Riker, her Imzadi.  She bonds with Wyatt over the experience and decides that she will follow through with the wedding and learn to love and live with Wyatt over time because he's a good man.  But an alien species arrives in orbit of the planet that threatens the safety of everyone on the planet and aboard the Enterprise with an ancient plague that has destroyed their entire species, and many other worlds to which they have fled seeking refuge.  It's discovered that Wyatt has been drawing one of the aliens his entire life, and that she too, has been drawing him her entire life.  He decides that his destiny is aboard the alien vessel and he beams over without authorization to live out the life he feels he was always meant to live, thus breaking the marriage pact and allowing Deanna to move forward with her life as a member of the Enterprise crew.
